If you're keen to learn something new with Moodle or if you just want to familiarise yourself with something you haven't tried in a while, please don't hesitate to contact me for some individual assistance or training.

I also have a few useful electronic training manuals and resources available upon request for those who are interested.

Welcome to 2011
by Donald Mackay - Monday, 17 January 2011, 11:09 AM

And welcome to Sunshine Coast Grammar School’s Online Learning or “eLearning” site, powered by Moodle. For those of you who have never used Moodle before, Moodle is a Learning Management System and an extremely useful teaching resource that is designed to host course files and resources, activities, and general information. With Moodle you’re only limited by your own abilities; some use it simply as a file repository where staff and students alike can access course resources, while others use Moodle’s various built-in interactive components that allow students to generate virtual classroom discussions, or submit drafts and assignments online.

For both new and old users alike there are some helpful tutorials and how-to guides stored within the “Staff PD” section to get you started for the new school year. There’s also a swell of other useful tools that can be found on the internet – here’s a few to get you started:

Moodle PD is offered to all staff throughout the school year, plus presentations are uploaded to the Online Learning Resources section for those who aren’t able to attend. Support is always available, however we do encourage staff to search the Helpdesk Knowledge Base or Google, or ask another staff member first. For support simply email helpdesk@scgs.qld.edu.au and include a description of the problem or task you’d like help with.

Good luck!
